Glory be to God for he has risen! He has risen! He has risen! Today is the day we celebrate the lord our God and the greatest gift he has given us… The gift of eternal life, life after this world, life after death, life only achieved through faith in him. How incredible is that?!?! How could you not feel blessed today to know that you have been forgiven of your sins, which were nailed to the cross with christ. What a special day!
To celebrate this special day, we as a family spend a lot of time with the lord before and during and someday we hope to have after conversations as well but right now Harv doesn’t have the language yet for after.
For the before we utilize our Easter Advent Eggs which we made last year…
you can read more about them at my craft blog… Domestic Day’s!
Then on easter morning Harv opens up his easter basket. This years basket contains bible stories and a new bible which I am really excited about. It’s a Little Boy’s Story book bible for Mother’s and Sons. (There is also a father son, mother daughter, and father daughter version) I am excited because it is not only written in children’s language with pictures it also contains conversation points directed for mother’s and sons. How fun is that? and what a great way for us to begin those after conversations i was talking about. I can’t wait till Harv has the language; but for now i will do the talking. 🙂
my favorite part of the above easter basket though was watching Harvey open it. before i even had it down in front of him the kid had already pulled the bible out, had it open and had begun pointing to it and telling me stories.
when he was done flipping through, he then went back to the basket to see what else was there, he through the pants i made over his shoulder and grabbed the bible stories underneath. He opened them both looked at them and then thoughtfully decided which one he wanted to read, he handed me the one about Zacheus, climbed in my lap and we read.
It blesses my heart to see this, he didn’t really care about anything this morning other than reading these books (he even took them in the car with him to church). I love to see his passion for not only books but in particular bible stories and his bibles. (they are always the first he grabs to read, which he does daily!) I feel so blessed to help grow his faith, to be privileged with the honor of raising him. and Today I am that much more grateful for the blessings God has given me!
Well we hope you all had a blessed day! blessings to all of you!!
